Unless the Lord builds the house, those who build it labor in vain. -- Ps. 127:1a

Greetings,
Blessings to you! These are some of the toughest times many of us have ever lived to see. The stress of making it from day to day is increasingly difficult. From unemployed heads of households and neglected children to fragile families and mixed-up marriages on the brink of destruction, it's enough to make a person throw up both their hands. Added to that are the health care debates that allow the rich access to quality health care while the poor are left to die, and an economy teetering dangerously in the realm of the unrecoverable. Many people are wondering where God is in all of this.
But fret not, because these are also some of the most wondrous times, as well. I am one of the most optimistic people I know, and yet I -- even I -- never thought I'd live to see an African American president. I've seen lives transformed in ways I could not have imagined. Alcoholics who gave up the drink. Addicts who found a better high in Christ Jesus. A budget that has fed 5,000 from two fishes and five loaves. And a people who are committed to following Christ, no matter the cost.
We are indeed a courageous church in the fact of challenging times.
I'm excited about what God has in store for us in 2010. We are committed to strong missions, passionate evangelism, deeper growth, and joyous worship. Join us as we celebrate Him and the difference He has made in our lives and as He reveals to us a glorious future.
